Weaving Onomastic Tapestries: Corpus-Building and Analysis of

Non-Chinese Names in Northeastern China, 1368–1948

  • The data is primarily available in traditional Chinese and will be fully available in Chinese-English bilingual format at a later stage.

  • The default collation for the search box is case insensitive.

  • To input special graphemes (Möllendorff-Norman system), you may copy and paste the following: ž, Å«, š.

  • To input Hanyu Pinyin, please add a space between each character, such as "mu ke deng e".

  • Please reset before a new search, if you do not wish to apply the same shortlisted filter.

  • Results will appear in the order of data input.

  • You can sort out all the names with the filters without any input in the search box.

  • If Manchu fonts are not displayed, please download the Noto Sans Mongolian font here.
